Spike walked through the castle feeling increasingly
dizzy. A strange sense of oddity seized him and he pulled himself together in
order to shake it off his shoulders, which were pressed down by a heavy weight
while an irresistible power tried to suck him into the ground.
Last time, he
‘ d felt like this seemed to be ages ago, in a past life, after he had died and
returned again, after this endless time of struggling, grieving and the often
futile attempts to keep his sanity.
He stood still, rubbed his suddenly
hurting temple, and wondered for a moment what he was doing here in this part of
the world, in the middle of Europe, a place he hadn ‘ t wished to see once more.
Obviously he must be extremely exhausted, though he couldn ‘ t remember why.
He looked around, unable to avoid the suspicion, that something went
completely wrong inside these old hallways, the ruins left from the once
impressing building, he usually would have been proud to cross, his chin raised
up, taking quick steps, his black leather coat swinging behind him.
A
feeling of upcoming danger gripped him in its iron fist, and he remembered this
sleepy town, rich of demons, evil ghosts and lost souls, altogether attracted by
the hellmouth beneath.
It ‘ s been a long time ago in Sunnydale, where he ‘
d lost control for the last time, where the first of all evils had reached out
for him, had played games with his mind, whirled him around and spat him out,
when it had enough.
Spike growled annoyed and with a sigh he started moving
again. But the scent surrounding him started to make him shiver in anticipation
of something bigger, something more scaring than he had imagined for years.
He lit a cigarette in an useless attempt to distract himself from the sudden
memories haunting him. And he had no doubt about the reason for these memories.
Why on earth had he been forced to meet this idiot again? What had he done
to deserve it.
“Spike! Never giving up old habits, right?” Xander made a
clicking noise with his tongue and shook his head.
“Shut up, man, not your
business.”
Xander raised his eyebrowes.
“Really?”
He studied the
vampire in front of him with disgust. The torch in front of him sent its light
through the room, caught Spikes bright hair and made it glisten. Silver strands
flamed up with every move and the icy blue eyes stared at him challenging. But
somehow the rough features appeared different, a confusing mixture of hardness
and simple fear. Xander would swear that the man looked even paler than
normally.
There was definitely something in the air, something disturbing,
very old and strangely familiar. He ‘ d had this feeling before and he had no
intention to remember the past. So he concentrated on the presence, cursing
silently Giles who had convinced him to fulfil Angels request, who had showed up
recently asking them to look after his companion.
“So, when will you have
finished studying architecture?”
“Can ‘ t be soon enough, right boy?”
“Well, I won ‘ t contradict. You ‘ re a part of old times I ‘ d prefer to
forget.”
“I know what you mean, and believe me, I can ‘ t wait for the
moment, either.”
“Then, what ‘ s holding you?”
Spike remained silent for a
moment, listened attentively to a sound Xander couldn ‘ t make out.
He seemed
to return from another dimension, when he said and unexpectedly low.
“This
is no mistake. It is with us!”
Xander startled, couldn ‘ t avoid the fear
rolling over him, though he tried to talk it away in his usual superficial
manner.
“Sure man, who would believe in you making a mistake.”
Spike
studied Xander throroughly from head to toe, regarded the dark hair falling
softly around his still boyish face, met the obsidian coloured eyes, which
revealed that they ‘ d already seen more than usual in this age.
“You are
real... , aren’t you?” He mumbled absent mindly, lost in thoughts he couldn ‘ t
prevent, thoughts, which made him shiver in fear.
“Me? Of course I am!
Spike! You ‘ re going nuts again?”
Xander looked alarmed. “Damnit, I can ‘ t
believe it! You son of a bitch will succeed to turn our lives into hell
again.”
“What are you talking about?”
Oh, you know. I don ‘ t have to
tell you.” His voice grew louder. “Hellmouth... obsessions... William the
Bloody... , but you ‘ ll see... I won ‘ t get fooled again.”
“Seems like you
are going crazy, kid! Leave me alone!”
“No, I won ‘ t. I have to tell you for
once, that you wouldn ‘ t receive another chance, not here!”
“Xander!” Spike
sighed, slowly becoming really annoyed. “We ‘ re on the same side. No need to
fight.”
“I ‘ m not... I ‘ ll never be on your side! I ‘ m not stupid enough
to trust you.” “Okay by me. Anything else you want to tell me?”
“I can ‘ t
stand selfish bastards like you. Can ‘ t believe, that I agreed to come here.
Angel really owes me one!”
“Can we leave this behind us? I know, it ‘ s not
my vampire existence, that you ‘ re holding in contempt. It ‘ s something
between you and me.”
“You ‘ re damn right. It ‘ s you! You ‘ re attracting
trouble of the worst kind, as long as I ‘ m knowing you!”
“Yeah, sure, it ‘
s all my fault, nobody would doubt that.”
“So, what ‘ s about your weird
behaviour a moment ago? Something is with us? Sounds like you ‘ re losing it
again. And that ‘ s kind of an invitation for each eerie demon to take you into
his possession. But before this happens, I ‘ m sure, that Giles and Angel would
be glad, if I ‘ d dust you first.”
“Your dreaming.” Spike felt his anger
grow. “I have a job to do here and I will do it. Who do you think you are,
always pretending you ‘ re better than me.”
“No doubt, that I ‘ m better than
you.” Xander stared at him, confused himself by the irresistable urge to hurt
the guy. The feeling grapped him again, the almost forgotten feeling of an
unclear, foggy desire, a longing he couldn ‘ t put in words for he had no idea
what it was, he was longing for.
“Shut up, kid, if you don ‘ t want me to
became really furious.”
“Now I ‘ m scared. What do you want to do? Drink my
blood?”
“Do you think, I would poison myself?” Spike shot back, sensing his
blood rising, finding it increasingly difficult to keep the wrath inside. Why
was it, that the guy always made him lose his temper. Advantage was, he had
stopped to feel scared, the familiar feeling of anger chasing away the
uncomfortable and irrefutable worry.
“You ‘ d never mind, as far as I
remember, each animal would show more self control than you.”
That did it.
Spike thought, he would explode if he ‘ d held his fury inside any longer and
lashed out at his opposite. But Xander had improved his fighting skills during
the last years, had trained hard and wasn ‘ t anymore that inferior to the
blond, who felt more weak than he would admit. Xander evaded the punch, whirled
around, and kicked into Spikes stomach, who let out a deep growl, before he
dashed back on him, landing a hit against the chin of the other man, who
stumbled, lost his balance and fell on his knees. Immediately Spike was upon
him, treating every part of Xanders body he could reach with his fists, freeing
the anger, he had held inside for so many years. “You have no right to condemn
me!” he screamed, while the hits rained on the younger mans back, who had curled
up a moment, before he managed to turn around and raised his knee until it met
hard the sensible parts between Spikes legs.
“Damn!” Spike pulled back,
needing a moment to adjust himself. Xander used the time to get up until they
stood in front of each other, panting, their eyes shooting arrows, wild enough
to set their surroundings in flames.
When they came together again, it was a
desperate wrestling for gaining the upper hand, together they tumbled and fell,
rolled across the floor unable to stop the fight. Together they crashed down the
stairs, lost balance completely, bursted through the last steps, which couldn ‘
t hold the extent of their violence. They lost their grip on each other and
stood up wavering, the only sounds filling the basement were their husky
groaning. “Kill him,” the bodyless voice demanded. “Kill him and you ‘ ll be in
peace. There is no other way.”
“Nooo, ” Spike pressed his hands against his
ears, when another kick made him sink down, but he was quick enough to trip
Xander, who collided hard with the rude wall.
“You ‘ ll pay, I ‘ ll swear,”
he grumbled, when Spike kicked him into the area of his kidneys. He moaned, but
still remained on his feet, when the blond rushed against him, emitting a
desperate cry, pulling them both to the stony ground.
“I hate you!” The
muffled sounds passed through the dark scenery, the only light seemed to come
from above.
“I hate you, “the voice was heard again, but Xander became
aware, that the violent punches had stopped, that Spike only hold him in a tight
embrace as if he ‘ d want to prevent him from breathing though the pressure wasn
‘ t strong enough to do so.
“I hate you!” The voice became soft and Xander
could swear, he ‘ d hear a sob.
Startled he stopped his frantic movements,
remained still, searching the darkness wondering what has happened.
And then
he saw them, these normally cold shining blue eyes filled with salty tears,
flowing down the face, he had declined for such a long time. And in this one
moment he recognized why, he saw it clearer, than he had seen anything before,
saw the reason for his rejection building up in front of him.
“Spike,” he
whispered, when his dark eyes drank the sight of the man in front of him.
“Spike! I know now!” His voice broke, when he went on. “No fear! It ‘ s
alright!”
“What do you mean?” the blond glanced at him.
“I know, it ‘ s
right,” Xander whispered, when he bent down on the slim figure beneath him and
softly touched his mouth, tasting the blood, dripping from the corner of the
other mans soft lips.
It mixed with the hot fluid streaming out of the
wounds Spike had caused in his features, the sweet taste making him shiver in
expectation. The kiss grew stronger, became harder, demanding, until they moaned
against each other, changing the hold of their arms and legs into a passionate
grip, becoming even tighter than before. Xanders hungry mouth moved and kneaded
Spikes until it finally opened, granted access to the hot tongue, swirling and
dancing the ancient dance of desire. Hands slid over black clothes, hastily
pulling them aside, reaching for the pale skin, covering the hard muscled arms
and chest. Spike urged the other man up without breaking the kiss, getting rid
of his coat and shirt. He ripped Xanders sweater open to be able to kiss his way
down the sensitive throat, resting a while on the place behind the ear, an
attention, which made Xander tremble and shake in anticipation. He let himself
being guided until he lay with his back on the floor, sensing this sensitive
mouth covering his skin until it reached one of the two dark nipples already
erected by the sensations. Though the tongue licked around them, sucked them in,
until he started to scream in lust, only to be silenced by the lips, which
covered his again.
Unable to bear it any longer he flipped the smaller man
around, now his turn to caress the cold skin with hands, lips and tongue. Soon,
too soon, but inevitably his hands glided down, opened the black Jeans, found
his aim. Spike arched back, letting out a sigh, when big hands started to build
the tension, stroke his cock, until he thought his heart would burst, though he
knew it yet wasn ‘ t pounding.
“Stop it!” he croaked. “I can ‘ t hold it.”
“Then don ‘ t,” Xander grinned, enjoying his undeniable power. And Spike
came with a content yelp, couldn ‘ t prevent the endless stream of creamy fluid,
when Xander pumped him merciless empty.
“God,” he sighed shivering with the
aftershocks, when Xander bent over him again, covered him with his body, the
hard member inside his trousers reminding him of what had to come.
He nuzzled
Spikes neck who opened the buttons, pulled the disturbing clothes down until
skin met skin, making them both gasp with the feeling. “Take me, now!” Spike
moaned, tossing his head from one side to another, when Xander softly bit his
throat. The dark haired man needed no further encouragement, softly pushing
against the enticing entrance until Spike raised his knees up, offered himself
to the handsome guy, who pushed in almost violently, taking no prisoners. He
cried out, when Xander reached the magic spot inside him with the first hard
stroke, groaned, when he pulled out only to come back forcefully. They moved
together in a magic rhythm, getting higher and higher, until they reached the
peak, until Xander threw his head back in pleasure and filled him, nearly
endlessly, finally collapsing on the other body, who still shook with the
aftermaths of his second orgasm. “Xander!” Spike called him softly when the
other man wasn ‘ t moving. The hard body seemed stiff and lifeless, burying him
under its weight and he suddenly struggled to come free, tried to push Xander
away, feeling the terror from earlier returning, reaching out for him with cold
fingers. He couldn ‘ t move, couldn ‘ t think, couldn ‘ t get away from the
demonic presence threatening him, felt naked, helpless and alone, devoured by
the darkest of all evils. He tried to penetrate the blackness with his eyes,
regognizing the dark cellar, he ‘ d searched for days, convinced that he would
find Nosferatu here, obsessed by the thought to destroy this monster. “And you ‘
d found me at last!” The ancient vampire whispered through the darkness.
“Believe me, you will regret it soon.” He sniffed audibly. “Too long, since I ‘
ve received a delicious meal like this. You ‘ re presenting me the first human
blood in this part of the world for decades, I ‘ ll make sure to thank you
properly before I ‘ ll send you to hell.”
“Wha... What have you done to
him?” Spike whimpered in shock.
“Oh dear!” The ugly, haggard figure seemed to
attempt a grin, when it answered. “My powers allow me to call each vulnerable
soul into this place, don ‘ t you think, that I would be able to immobilize a
simple human, to paralyze an insult like your sad existence?”
Spike
desperately tried to get up, but the will of the vampire hold him in place.
“You hadn ‘ t called me, you don ‘ t possess that kind of power.”
“That
‘ s right, you hadn ‘ t called him, I had sent him out to find you.”
Angel
raised his weapon and in one skilful movement parted the abhorrent head from its
body. A scream pierced the night, while the cloud of dust slowly sank to the
ground, when Spike felt the paralyzis fading away, when his senses became clear
again, when he met the dark eyes of his awakening lover.
“You ‘ re okay,
Xander,” he asked softly receiving a small nod by the man, before he turned to
Angel.
“Damnit Angel, you really enjoy appearing last minute!”
“Well,”
the older vampire shrugged. “Hadn ‘ t expected you to attract his attention that
soon. But... ,” he threw a glance over Xanders naked body. “Seems you had some
help in here.”
“Shut up,” Xander grumbled. “And would you leave! Now! I guess
Spike and I have to talk.” Without a word, only a hidden smile appearing on his
face vanishing in the shadows, Angel left. “What?” Spike murmured. “You want to
throw something at me, again? Then, listen, boy, I won ‘ t accept... .” “Could
you just remain silent for one moment,” Xander demanded and wrapped his arms
around the slender body, closing his mouth with a deep and passionate kiss,
telling him everything, words would never be able to tell.
The end
